"When You Buy, Shelter Dogs Die" Is A Boldfaced LIE!!!
Sorry for the inconvenience! This old blog has been replaced with a shiny new one. Please feel free to check out our new venture: Canem Sententia: One Groomer's Dog Blog
Nothing to say other than, perfect. This was simply perfect and I wish this could be shared everywhere. It's unbelievable the amount of people who think buying a dog or cat from a breeder has any effect on what goes on in a shelter. If I can't get a pet from a breeder, I probably just won't get any at all. I've NO desire for an animal who's history I don't know. Yet shelter animals will continue to be euth'd regardless. So how is one effecting another? It's amazing how few people actually realize this.
I especially like your line where you said that your house isn't open to any random dog. Agreed so much. Whenever people say buying a dog or cat takes a home a shelter mutt or moggie could have had, I literally face palm. How on Earth can you take a home from something it was never open to? (Not to mention the fact that buying from a breeder doesn't in anyway prevent them from buying from a shelter later on). It makes no sense. Again, the lack of thought shelter zealots put into their rage really baffles me.
Another wonderful article. Thank you.
